Sara E. West is an associate attorney at de Beer & Associates, P.A., bringing over a decade of diverse legal experience to the practice of family law. While any legal matter can be complex and overwhelming, Sara understands that family law matters often come with the added emotional hardship of directly effecting your everyday life and relationships. Client relationships are extremely important to Sara, and she will cost-effectively work to earn your trust by fully informing you of the process, setting realistic expectations, providing clear counsel in plain language, strategizing with other firm attorneys and working with you to identify creative, personally tailored solutions to your situation, and keeping the lines of communication open. Sara’s prior practice in criminal law and tax controversy services provide her with extensive experience in resolving cases through discussion, negotiation, mediation, and trial.

Although Sara has lived in Minnesota since 2014, she grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University, earning a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology and a minor degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Sara then worked for a large investment firm, obtaining her series 7 and 63 licenses, before attending law school at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. As a student and after graduation and admission to the bar, Sara prosecuted cases for the county attorney and police department. Sara then transitioned into tax law, where she primarily practiced as an advocate for clients in tax controversy. Sara’s knowledge of business and tax helps her better understand complex financial issues in family law matters.

In her personal life, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, riding horses, and volunteering.
